Something Like Normal by Trish Doller
Release Date: June 19th 2012
When Travis returns home from a stint in Afghanistan, his parents are splitting up, his brother’s stolen his girlfriend and his car, and he’s haunted by nightmares of his best friend’s death. It’s not until Travis runs into Harper, a girl he’s had a rocky relationship with since middle school, that life actually starts looking up. And as he and Harper see more of each other, he begins to pick his way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. Travis’s dry sense of humor, and incredible sense of honor, make him an irresistible and eminently lovable hero.

I love books that are from a guys perspective. It's also interesting to know what's going on inside the minds of men. Maybe because I watched and cried hysterically during Dear John last night that I want to read this but also because I'm a military wife and it's always nice to read these books.

Let's Talk: Printed vs Digital

I've been debating for a long time weather I wanted to stick to reading books that are tangible and not on a computer screen, but I think I am ready to start reading books on a device such as the Nook or Kindle. For one, it's easier to read when you just have to hold one thing instead of holding open the pages. Another reason I am leaning towards buying an e-reader is because I have a two year old. She likes to take out bookmarks and close my books. I think e-readers are also lighter to carry around and I don't have to worry about getting all the pages wet. It's also cheaper too to buy books which is a huge PLUS for me.

A year ago I would have scoffed at my now self thinking, "She is so modern. You don't need a $200 e-reader when you could just buy a book from a perfectly good store." I am modern though. SO modern. I feel like reading digital gets a bad rep and it shouldn't be that way. We all read the same book anyways, and reading digital saves paper too!

So share your thoughts: Are you a digital reader or a printed word reader?

This is a very long description of the book, but it seems really exciting and adventure filled. I love mysteries mixed with boys and this looks great. I'm glad it's coming out soon too!
